Alright, so yes, it's been over a year since my last journal entry - which, I hasten to assure you, doesn't mean that I'm not around (you'll have noticed a few pieces coming in nonetheless). I guess I'm just rubbish at keeping up with things like this. But I've also been studying abroad in Ireland since September, and it's been one of the most fantastic experiences of my life so far. I'm in a place that is small, fairly remote, and breathtakingly gorgeous, and I'm able to work on my art - just my art! - pretty much 24/7. Well, I'm heading into the spring semester of my sophomore year of college - where did the first half of the year go? At any rate, I'm trying to do a lot more drawing and especially a lot more illustration; I'd really like to be more disciplined about it. Funny thing is, usually the things I plan out don't go nearly as well as the spontaneous drawings and such. Also getting back onto the costume scene! Well, I've been re-reading the Inkheart trilogy, and have realized all over again how fantastic those books are. Nothing else I have read depicts more clearly how far one can fall in love with words, with a world that exists only on the page and yet at times is so much more real than reality itself. This is very special for me, for a person who seems to spend more time in her own little worlds than in THE world. So perhaps be prepared for some Inkheart illustrations soon... depending on if I have time/motivation in between schoolwork.
